The children's class runs every Sunday, which means parents can attend the adult session while their children are in class down the corridor.
What the children do
Sessions are built around stories from the Jataka tales and the life of the Buddha, followed by discussion pitched at the age of the group. There is usually an activity, and always a short period of quiet — a few minutes for the youngest, a little longer for older children.
The emphasis is on kindness, honesty and paying attention, rather than on doctrine. Children who attend are not expected to identify as Buddhist.
Ages and joining
The class is generally suitable from around five years old. Younger children are welcome to stay with their parents in the main hall instead.
There is no registration and no term structure — you can start on any Sunday.
